Ayshe Abdulhafeth

My name is Ayshe Abdulhafeth and I guess I had a normal Palestinian childhood. I grew up in big family—one of many, many grandchildren—with lots of aunts and uncles. I was the firstborn in my family and spent a lot of time playing by myself, my imagination filling my head. I went to the local public schools and I was always first or second in my class, with my highest grades in math.  I wasn’t sure what I wanted to be when I grew up—I had thoughts of being an architect-engineer—but ended up settling for statistics, and I got a Masters degree in it.

After college, I had a busy work career but I had to quit everything to move with my husband to the United Arab Emirates. After one year there, I got divorced and moved back to my hometown with my little boy. I started searching for part time jobs so I could take care of my child and one day I found Odetta.

My job as a statistician and aspiring data scientist for Odetta has helped me achieve a life-work balance, has given me financial freedom and has made me self-confident. Odetta is the right place for me. I have learned a lot about things I didn't know existed; it has opened my eyes to whole new world. It has taught me not to give up and to believe in a bright future.
