Content Management Approach for Online Publishing

Odetta teamed up with a travel startup to make their content management smoother. The goal was to improve how they create and manage the content of their website, focusing on the unique challenges travel entrepreneurs face.

Challenges

The client faced a mix of challenges that made content management in the travel industry a bit tricky.

Handling Extensive Content Uploads

The client faced the daily challenge of managing uploads for advisor profiles, itineraries, and trip reports. With the limited in-house capacity of the team, the task required a deep understanding of the audience, alignment with the brand's narrative, and relevance to diverse travel options.

Hands-On Work with Images

Managing content involved a lot of manual work, especially with images. Tasks like selecting relevant images that align with the content, editing those images, adjusting their sizes, and ensuring everything looked good, and there were no duplicate images on the website, etc., demanded attention to details and a commitment to keep visuals top-notch.

Linking to the Right Pages

Connecting places in content to the right pages was another challenge. For example, if an advisor wrote an itinerary about Italy, the team had to manually find and link to other relevant itineraries on the client's website. It also involved linking places and restaurants available in the content to their official websites. This needed a good understanding of existing content, careful cross-referencing, and a smart approach to improving the overall user experience
