Challenges

Our client was having difficulty keeping pace with their operations process, and these time limitations were hindering their process of timely data updates and market price retrieval, which in turn was delaying the deliverables to the collectors and affecting their overall productivity. At this point, they contacted Odetta to simplify the task and streamline their Inventory management, data collection, and pricing of sports and non-sport trading, sports memorabilia and other collectibles cards for their customers.

Our client chose Odetta as their solution provider due to Odetta's highly trainable team and fast processing speed. Odetta's team was responsible for managing images, data verification inventory management, data migration into Amazon Web Services (AWS), data collection, and pricing of sports and non-sport trading cards for the client by developing an intelligent strategy. Our team divided the process into smaller, more efficient key steps to achieve maximum results. We had multiple teams operating side by side to ensure optimal speed. Odetta’s team received client images in folders, each containing multiple cards. The first step was to crop these images to isolate each card, match their front and back, and rename them following a specific format. The renamed images were then organized into folders and uploaded to designated Amazon S3 buckets, ensuring the data remained intact. Our team very efficiently managed inventory in Google Sheets, adhering to specific naming conventions for the cards, sourcing card prices from reliable paid platforms and unpaid marketplaces, and matching them precisely with card grades and types in the inventory. They computed various price metrics to create solid pricing benchmarks, including all-time averages, 6-month averages, and standard deviations. Our team ensured regular Quality Control checks to ensure data accuracy, and our Team leaders consolidated this data into comprehensive reports customized to meet the client’s specific requirements.
