Odettian Quote

Thank you Odetta. Thank you for giving us so much confidence that we can do something apart from making babies and running households. Thank you for making us stand on our own feet. Thank you for creating a sense of love in Odetta where we are obligated to talk in a polite way to everyone. Thank you for being here ALWAYS.

Here I am about to give birth to my second baby and all I could think of was how will I stay away from Odetta on my maternity leave when the baby comes. I truly believe you get loyal people who have other options but we happily kick them out of our lives. Because yes I LOVE this virtual place. Just a big Applause to Odetta 😍

Quote of the Month: “On Doing Good”

Fear keeps humans from wanting to share abundance. Our addiction to control makes us fear that if we try to take care of everyone in the world, we will have to surrender our own freedom and our own resources. The truth is actually the total opposite. It is hard to be fully happy for yourself and others when there is so much suffering around you. If we work together to alleviate that suffering, our collective environment will feel lighter. Things won’t be perfect, but eradicating the hard material forms of suffering—like hunger, lack of housing, lack of education, and lack of health care—will certainly have a positive impact on everyone’s well-being and conscious outlook. Taking care of each other will give us more freedom as individuals to focus on creating culture and art from the healed parts of ourselves. If outright survival is no longer our primary concern, we can bring our focus to the finer aspects of life and attempt to make our deepest aspirations a reality. Thriving is not only cultivating a healthy mindset, but bringing to life what you want to see in the world.
