Dear Reader,
When I was first learning sales, I was told by the investors at our company that we needed to hire someone more aggressive than myself for the sales leadership role. I spent several years wondering whether and how I could transform myself into a traditional sales hunter. When I went out on my own to start Odetta, I realized that I could hunt very well just as I was, in fact, I was pulling in more deals than I ever thought possible. I challenged the stereotype that you must be a tough, aggressive, type-A person to be good at sales (or any position), and I found that empathy, authenticity, and humility were my magic ingredients to closing new deals.
At Odetta, we now have a four-person sales team based out of Pakistan and Turkey who close all of our new business. Instead of hiring from the outside, we empowered account managers who knew the business inside out to grow into this role. I love how each member of our sales team is truly themselves on these calls and their uniqueness and passion is palpable across many time zones. So far, their average closing rate is better than their founder.
So do not listen to anyone who tells you that you don’t have what it takes. You do have what it takes, even if it does not fit what people expect.

Monthly Spotlight: Salesforce Data Management
|
|
|
We help our clients with Salesforce Data Management. Most of our work involves updating the data of leads and accounts in their Salesforce database. We perform data cleaning by preparing data to be compatible with Salesforce object fields or identifying and deleting duplicates. We do that either directly in Salesforce if it’s a small task or on Google sheets and then using Salesforce data loader if it is mass update/upload of large datasets.

"We LOVE our relationship with the Odetta team and they're always super responsive when we need to work through a process. Specifically appreciate that you can scale up and down with the ebb and flow of the business. Big fan of the Odettians.

“Dear Odetta, I just want to say, thank you for choosing us. You have nourished us in different ways. We are financially independent supporting our family, spouse, and children. We are grateful for the opportunity. You make us strong and unbreakable. Women supporting women is another level of success. Love from me”💞

“If women are not perceived to be fully within the structures of power, surely it is power that we need to redefine rather than women?”
