International Women’s Day Special - Odetta’s Success Stories
Happy International Women’s Day! Odetta is proud to be a platform whose core mission is to empower women by providing them with the chance to realize their full potential, on their terms. And through it all, our Odettians remain our biggest inspiration. Their passion and grit to make something of themselves truly makes us proud. Here are three inspiring stories that were shared in our community recently.
Our Recruitment Lead at Odetta, Hafsa N. considers herself a dreamer. Inspired by Leonardo da Vinci in her youth, she dreamt of becoming a scientist. But her parents wanted her to become a doctor. She applied to a medical school but could not get in. It shattered her self-esteem, even though she did not really want to be a doctor. Then she got into a Biotechnology program and ended up completing her M.Phil in Molecular Biology from the Punjab University in Pakistan.
Working in this field made Hafsa regain her confidence and helped her rediscover herself. Being an introvert, she always felt uncomfortable with monotonous work and rigid roles. She believes working at Odetta has been an empowering experience for her. She has been able to support her higher studies in Environmental Biotechnology by herself, as Odetta has made her financially independent. Hafsa believes that you have to be your own person and find yourself first in order to fulfill your destiny. Everyone has a different purpose here, find yours and play your part well!
After our amazing Project Lead Sughandh A. graduated, she started working as an HR professional in a multinational company. Her full-time job and hectic routine soon started to take a toll on her health. She joined Odetta when she learned about it through a Facebook group. She left her full-time job soon afterward.
She explains that Odetta gave her the flexibility to earn from the comfort of her home while maintaining a work-life balance. Now, she also volunteers on different projects to support the education of women in remote areas of Pakistan. She describes Odetta as a great platform for those who want to stay productive without compromising their health and personal lives.

Our incredible Odetta Community Member Maria C. used to work in a predominantly male-dominated workplace. She was often faced with the statement "This is not how we do things here", with the deck often stacked against her. Tenacity and level-headedness were what helped her get through those circumstances but always found herself unsatisfied.
When she discovered Odetta, she found it refreshing to be a part of an organization that focused on creating a platform that uplifted and empowered women by providing flexible work. She felt connected to the company’s mission and wanted to be a part of it. She then immersed herself in the community and started building connections with her fellow Odettians. She was soon able to move to a leadership position, with her talents finally recognized and appreciated.
Another Odetta Community Member finds strength in her daughter. By working and becoming financially independent, she hopes to guarantee a better future for her child. By working at Odetta, she feels like she is doing her part to empower herself and other women. She hopes to pave the way to a future where women aren’t expected to prove themselves at every turn.
